3 Lessons Learned From My 30 Day Challenge
My 30 Day Challenge has come to an end, and I ended up well short of my goal. It was still a great experience because I learned which weak areas I need to improve on in my writing process. The following is a list of them, in no particular order:
1. Distractions
This was what killed my productivity. When I got to a sticking point in an article I was writing, I would often switch to doing something else like checking my email, looking at my traffic stats, or going to forums to read new posts. This is one the biggest things I am going to work on changing.
2. Article Titles
I realized that I need to work on creating better titles for my articles, so that more people will be compelled to read them. Writing the best article in the world doesn’t matter if the title isn’t interesting enough for someone to click on it.
3. Preparation
I should have brainstormed a lot more article ideas before beginning the challenge. This would have helped during the times when I wasn’t sure what I was going to write about next.
Overall I am pleased with the increased results I experienced from doing this challenge. I updated this blog much more frequently this month than I did in prior months, and as a result my traffic has more than doubled. I plan to keep this increased frequency of updates going forward.
